International Summer School

New Advances in Materials
for Additive Manufacturing

5th-9th September 2022 - Brescia, Italy

Organized by University of Brescia and supported by University of Brescia Fund International Activities

NEWS: you can download the final program of the summer school at this link

Aims and scope

The summer school focuses on the latest advances in materials used and developed for additive manufacturing, involving both polymeric and metallic materials. The program will include frontal lectures given by the School Coordinators and Guest Speakers. Practical training sessions are also organized during the School. Hands-on activities will support the application of the acquired knowledge and will provide the possibility to try in person these tools and understand which one better fits the specific needs for scientific research. Innovative teaching strategies involving theatre activities are proposed as precious tool to improve communicating skills.

  • 3D and 4D printing of polymeric materials for biomedical and robotics field

  • Design of innovative metallic alloys tailored for additive manufacturing processes

  • Powders production and characterization

  • Innovative post-processing routes

  • Use of databases for materials selection and materials design
    (Interactive activity)

  • Numerical simulation of additive manufacturing processes at micro- and macro-scale (Interactive activity)

Day by day different themes will be addressed:

Day 1 - 4D Printing

Day 2 - Materials selection and alloy design

Day 3 - Metal Additive Manufacturing

Day 4 - Simulation of AM processes

Day 5 - Gender in Research and Theater Teaches
