Arriving in Brescia

By car

Brescia can be reached via motorways A4 Milan - Venice (E64), A35 Brescia - Bergamo - Milan, A21 Turin - Piacenza - Cremona - Brescia (E70). The access is provided through the following motorway tolls:

  • A4: Brescia Ovest, Brescia Centro, Brescia Est

  • A21: Brescia Sud, Brescia Centro

  • A35: Castegnato toll. Continue following the city centre indications along the Brebemi A35 connecting road.

By train

Brescia is located in a strategic position along the Milan-Venice railway. It is served by both regional and high-speed trains. For train timetables and fares, visit trenitalia.com (regional and Freccia high-speed trains) and italotreno.it/en (Italo high-speed trains).

  • Trains from / to Milan Centrale: regional train (1h 7min, departures approx. every hour) - high-speed train (36min, departures every half hour)

  • Trains from / to Verona Porta Nuova: regional train (43min, departures approx. every hour) - high-speed train (35min, departures every half hour)


Brescia train station is located in the city centre (Viale della Stazione, 36), about 30 minutes’ walk from University of Brescia - Department of Engineering.


By bus

Brescia bus station is located near the train station (Via Solferino,6). Flixbus and Eurolines provide connections with both Italian and European main cities.



By air

Brescia's central location makes it easy to reach the city for participants travelling by air. Bus services run regularly from the following airports:

Getting to University of Brescia - Faculty of Engineering


Brescia new automatic light rail has been operating since 2013. It connects the north and south-east sides of the city, with stops including the city centre, the train station and the main hospitals. The service runs from 5am to midnight (to 1am on Saturdays), with trains every 4 to 6 minutes during rush hours and 7 to 10 minutes in the evening and weekends. Tickets can be purchased at the vending machines located in the stations, at the tobacconist’s, infopoint offices, on the app BSMOVE, and via SMS. They are valid on the light rail and buses. Public buses in Brescia are organized along 16 routes which serve every area of the city and 14 adjacent towns (Borgosatollo, Botticino, Bovezzo, Caino, Castel Mella, Cellatica, Collebeato, Concesio, Flero, Gussago, Nave, Poncarale, Rezzato, Roncadelle). The bus service is managed by Brescia Mobilità bresciamobilita.it/en.


The Faculty of Engineering (Via Branze, 38) is served by automatic light rail (Europa / Mompiano stops), which provides excellent connections with the train/bus station (Stazione stop) and the main free parking points (Poliambulanza / Prealpino stops).
